A case of nasal discharge resulting in recurrent bacterial meningitis

A 47-year-old man who was previously hospitalized three times due to bacterial meningitis experienced a headache and posterior neck pain in May. He admitted our hospital because of fever 3 h later. fully conscious febrile, with signs meningeal irritation. cerebrospinal fluid examination showed an increased number cells polynuclear cell predominance decreased glucose levels, leading the diagnosis meningitis. Steroid antibiotic treatment initiated, at which time, large amounts nasal discharge were observed. Cisternal scintigraphy performed, detected discharge. The cause idiopathic, endoscopic repair performed. leakage suggested be recurrent this case.
